I pointed out that the email in question was under 30KB and the limit is at least 10 MB(I later confirmed a size of 26KB). Another 14 minutes later, he, not a supervisor, came back and said that the second level support had analyzed the problem and determined that the email was too large to deliver, and that's why it was in the spam folder.

He dithered with various settings while obviously reading some manual or flowchart on the subject(I could hear him mumbling through a set of instructions or flowchart maps as he clicked his way through some screens).Īfter approximately three minutes of actual troubleshooting and 25-27 minutes on hold, I asked to escalate to a supervisor.

The second call got me another script reader with less knowledge than the first.

Ironically, messages from my "allowed senders" were still being routed into the junk mail folder. All that did was allow the viagra/child porn/419 spam to come to my inbox. The first script reader told me to set the system to "deliver all emails", assuring me that the spam filter would still work on the spam while fixing the issue with "allowed senders" going to the junk mail folder. I soon discovered that they have replaced their previously excellent level one support with support characterized by long hold times, script reading call takers who don't understand the problems or have the technical knowledge to address them. This was my first call to their support in several months. In the meantime, if anyone has any suggestions to fix the problem with the filtering and allowed senders list, I'd sure appreciate it. Their service, once excellent, is now dreadful. If the answer is a simple user setting, I sure didn't get it. When I do, I receive a message that the sender is already in the list, and I verify by looking at the list, so I know it's getting there. I add them to the allowed list using the web feature to allow the email. Despite the fact that I have senders and domains in the "allowed senders" list, they still show up in the junk mail folder. This should really be a simple change in some user setting, but it apparently isn't.
